The Nature of Success

I received the nicest thing today.  A compliment about an image that I was fortunate to be at the right place at the right time. The person that took the times to say, is the special person, is the beautiful person.

Long ago, we formed a newsletter and called it f/8 and Being There. The key is being there. Therein lies the struggle. Life offers up so many options today. There are so many things competing for our time. Once in a while we get fortunate and happen to move the camera just the right way. But sometimes we need some reminders to get us out there.

This afternoon , after working outside on another project, I came in, washed up and had lunch. After that sometimes it’s hard to get restarted. So, I turned to one of my favorite series of books by Mac Anderson. This one entitled The Nature Of Success .

For some reason I had not delved into this book but the introduction caught my eye. “Success is the person who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has never lacked appreciation for the earths beauty, who never fails to look for the best in others or give the best of themselves.”

Then I noticed the Facebook note from a friend. I simply put the book aside and decided to share it. If your here thanks for coming.

Success is a very personal thing, I think. Mac Anderson says it best “It’s that feeling of deep satisfaction that starts in your soul and radiates through your being.” And I guess that’s what keeps me doing what I do. Perhaps that’s what it’s all about.

  1. Indeed. So many options, in a massively fast paced environment. I enjoyed your post. The image caught my eye first, then your first sentence. You received something nice today. It made me want to hear more…. I enjoyed your post a lot, it resonated within. Thanks for sharing.
