Photographing Clouds for Drama

Use any camera to capture dramatic clouds. The trick is to take a vertical exposure with the widest lens you have. Lower the horizon to include the clouds overhead for added drama. Under exposing will assure the bright areas don’t get blown out. Easy & fun!

This image was made at Lake Junaluska on one of our walks with a Sony Mirrorless Digital camera with the Sony 18-200mm lens set at 18mm, Aperture Priority set at f/5.6, 1/1000 sec set automatically.
